Painted Wooden Icon Panel

Description

This vertical wooden panel is hand-painted in traditional Ethiopian iconographic style. The upper section depicts Saint Mary holding the Infant Jesus, flanked by two angels, while the lower section shows Saint George on his white horse slaying the dragon. The top of the panel features a carved arch with an angel’s face and a wire loop for easy wall hanging.

ይህ የእንጨት ስዕለ አድኖ በባህላዊ የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ስዕል አሳሳል ጥበብ በእጅ የተቀባ ነው። የላይኛው ክፍል ቅድስት ድንግል ማርያምን ከልጇ ከወዳጇ ጋር ከሁለት መላእክት ጋር ያሳያል፤ የታችኛው ክፍል ደግሞ ቅዱስ ጊዮርጊስ በነጭ ፈረስ ላይ ሆኖ ዘንዶውን ሲወጋ ያሳያል። ለቤት ውስጥ ጸሎት ቦታ ወይም ለስጦታ የሚሆን መንፈሳዊ እቃ ነው።
