Hand-Painted Wooden Diptych Icon

Description

This hand-painted wooden diptych features a traditional representation of the Holy Family’s Flight to Egypt on the main panel. The inner folding door depicts two archangels holding swords in protective stance. The icon is housed in a carved dark wood frame with a stepped top and connected by simple wire hinges.
ይህ በእጅ የተሳለ የእንጨት ስዕለ አድኖ በዋናው ክፍል ላይ የእመቤታችን ቅድስት ድንግል ማርያም፣ የሕፃኑ ኢየሱስ እና የቅዱስ ዮሴፍን ወደ ግብፅ ስደት ያሳያል። በሚታጠፈው በር ውስጠኛ ክፍል ላይ ደግሞ ሰይፍ የጨበጡ ሁለት ቅዱሳን መላእክት በጥበቃ ላይ ቆመው ይታያሉ። ስዕለ አድኖው በጥቁር እንጨት በተሠራና ከላይ የእርከን ቅርጽ ባለው ክፈፍ የተዘጋጀ ሲሆን በሽቦ ማጠፊያዎች የተገጣጠመ ነው።
